Swimmin'

We got a new pool for the backyard. Brad set it up on Friday night and the kids were able to swim in it on Saturday. Last year's pool was at least a foot deeper than this one, so the kids were a little disappointed at first. After playing in it all day Saturday and Monday I don't think there are any more complaints. This one is a few feet wider and they are able to really move around in it. The ladder in the pictures is from the pool last year. This pool, as you can tell, doesn't need one. Luke can be in the pool and still have his neck and head out of the water. I think it is just nice to have a place to cool off in. The Heat is coming!!! :)

Kambree's Graduation

Kambree had her Kindergarten Graduation last Friday. All the classes went into the Cafeteria and sang some songs and then the teachers handed out Diplomas. Right before the teachers started to call the kids up one by one the teacher told the parents "If we stumble on calling your child's name please forgive us, we do know our students, but sometimes we get nervous up here." Two classes went before Kambree's and there were no problems, then most of Kambree's class went without any problems. When it was Kambree's turn her teacher called Kayly Hyland. I started laughing. That kind of stuff always happens to our family. The teacher corrected herself and called Kambree Hyland. There is a Kayly in the class, so it wasn't that she mispronounced it or anything. It was funny. After the "ceremony" we went to the classroom for a "reception." Kambree's teacher was really embarrassed. Her name was the only mistake in all five classes. It really was a nice little graduation. I just wish that school had better parking!

Plumbing Problems

Two weekends ago we had some plumbing problems. Brad first noticed some nasty water coming up in the shower when the toilets were flushed. He went and got some Drano and a plumbing snake to try to fix the problem. That didn't work so he tried some really heavy duty chemicals. The chemical had sulfur in it and smelled so bad we all had to leave the house. Of course this whole time no one could use the bathrooms and my kids were complaining every half hour about having to go. We did take 2 trips to Wal Mart to go to the bathroom. Later, Brad went outside to see if there was a problem out there and he found the ground all wet outside the bathroom, so he started digging. His dad came over to help and by Saturday night they found the problem, but it was too dark to fix it. By 8 at night I started realizing we couldn't sleep at our house with no toilets or showers. So Prudy and Dennis invited us to stay at their house. After Church on Sunday, Brad and Dennis were back in the hole fixing the pipe. The got it fixed right before dark, but the kids wanted to have another sleep over at Grandmas, so we spent another night there. I'm very grateful that we had some place to go. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the great accommodations!! Anyway so far everything is still working and we can use the toilets and shower when ever we need to!!!

Dance Recital

Kambree and Annie performed in their dance recital at the end of April. This was Kambree's second recital and Annie's first. They both did really well!! The theme for the recital was "Let's Go Shopping" All of the dances were done with music that represented different stores or shops. Annie's dance was "Me and My Teddy Bear" for build-a-bear workshop. I don't know what the song was called for Kambree, but her store was Saks fifth Avenue.

This video was taken at Kambree's dance rehearsal and is really short. Kambree is the one in the bright pink with dark hair. She is mostly in the middle back.

Easter Pics - Better late than never - Right?

The day before Easter we went to the Bell Family Farm for a big picnic and party. The Bell's are a family in the 2nd ward who have lots of land and lots of fun things to do at their house. There were all sorts of stations revolving around Easter theme, a barrel train ride, and a huge egg hunt. We had a great time and hope we'll be invited back next year. (they also do a pumpkin patch in October for the public - It's awesome!) That night we dyed eggs and watched a movie. On Sunday the Easter bunny had hidden all of the baskets for the kids to find, but for some reason I hadn't taken any pictures of that.

Baptism Pictures

I got a new camera battery today, so here are some pictures of Macey's baptism!

Happy Birthday to Macey and Annie

I'm a little late in this post, but we've been a little busy, plus my computer is very slow! Macey and Annie both had their best friend come over for their birthday's. Macey and Megan made a birthday cake, rented and watched a movie, and did crafts. Annie and Rylee played and ate cupcakes. The evening of Annie's birthday we went to Jason's Deli for dinner and then back home for cake and presents. Grandma and Grandpa came over, plus Bryan and Erica & Family, and Stacy and Don & family. It was a big party!
My parents have been here visiting this past week. They came for Macey's baptism which was on April 4th. I have some pictures, but my camera battery just died, so we will see. Her baptism went really well with her aunts, uncle, and cousins from Dallas, both sets of Grandparents, plus her favorite teacher from last year. When I was helping her get dressed after the baptism she looked at me and said "Well, the hard part is over" I think she was a bit worried about being dunked in the water. It seems crazy to have two kids who have been baptized. It is fun to watch them grow and experience new things, I just wish I didn't have to get older along with them. We had a great visit with my parents with lots of shopping, and card playing. I am very grateful that they made the trip for such a special occasion.
