Family Fun Night & More!

This Friday was Family Fun Night at our school. The kids dressed up and we went to the school for some fun. There were carnival games, cotton candy and popcorn, and these eggs that were filled with birdseed. They have some name, but I don't know what it is. All of the older kids ran around smashing them on people. Our kids got in the fun too and loved to smash them on Brad. We go every year and we have always had a good time. I loved that this year they mostly did it outside.
P.S. Nelson is dressed as a soccer player since we picked him up from practice to go!

This afternoon we all went out to Pappy's Pumpkin Patch. It was a beautiful day - well maybe a little hot in the sun. We saw bunch of people that we knew, including a family that had moved away a few months ago. After we had been there a half hour or so our cousins showed up too! It was great to visit with them and have some fun!Kambree and Annie playing with Sarah!

It's what month already?

We are still around! Unfortunately we have had computer and camera problems lately. I have finally bought a new camera and managed to download the software on our non reliable computer. After I got that done I didn't have anything to blog about-Until....Friday, we did some stuff to talk about. In the morning I took Annie and Luke to Pappy's Pumpkin Patch for playgroup. It's an awesome place. The kids had a great time. I'm hoping that the rest of the family will come with us next week. After school on Friday we went to the Tyler Rose Festival's Queen's Tea. We have gone to the tea every year since we've moved here. The queen and all of her attendants are dressed in their finest to talk to you and take pictures with. Of course my girls are way to shy to get near any of them. I did get Kambree to pose with the elaborate train of the Queen. My favorite part is walking into the main building and smelling all the roses. It smells so good!!

No More Gold

Like millions of Americans we have been watching the Olympics. Today Brad was telling me about the Women's Softball. I guess they have decided not to renew softball in the Olympics after this year and some say that one reason is the domination of the United States in the sport. So today Brad said that the US women's got silver not gold in the softball and isn't that kind of ironic. He left the room and then Kambree said "Maybe they just ran out of gold this year." Funny girl!!

Birthday Celebrations

I just wanted to share some pictures of the birthdays that we've celebrated at our house! Brad's was on July18, mine on July 28, and Kambree's on August 5th. We did have some fun plans for Kambree's birthday. We went to Chuck e Cheese and then to Brad's soccer game to celebrate!

Has anyone seen my eye?

Just a fun story. Today why I was making dinner Annie was whining at me to give her glue. She wanted to glue a googly eye on a pom pom like Kambree did earlier. I was ignoring her since I had already explained that I was busy and I'd help her do it after dinner. All the sudden she started screaming so I looked at her and asked what was wrong. Brad came in and looked at her too. She said that her nose hurt, so Brad started looking at it. I asked if she had stuck her finger up her nose and she said "no." Then I noticed that she didn't have her googly eye anymore. I asked her if she had put it up her nose and she said "no." Brad went to check anyway, but he came back and said that he didn't see anything up there. So we continued to have dinner. Half way through, Annie did a big sneeze that sprayed everywhere. Then a few minutes later Annie quietly came over to me and said "Mom, the eye is up my nose." I told her to see her dad, and Brad closed one of her nostrils and slid the eye out of the other where it just stuck on her upper lip. It was very funny. We guess her sneeze loosened the eye up. I don't know why she didn't fess up to it at the beginning - funny girl!

Does Anyone Know Where The First Part Of The Summer Went?

I can't believe how far into summer we already are. I worried about having bored kids at the beginning of June since we didn't have any big vacation planned. It is now well into July and I am just now getting the "I'm bored!" We have been keeping a bit busy by choosing a different activity to do each day. (my sister, Heather, gave me the idea to have each kid choose a different activity like, library, make a treat, rent a movie, have friends. Then each day everyone does one activity together. It has been working really well.) For the 4th of July we went to a pancake breakfast at the church and then packed up and headed for Dallas. We spent the afternoon swimming with the Amy and her family, and Stacy and her family, along with Prudy and Dennis. Then we went back to Amy's for a great BBQ dinner. We stayed over and went to the temple and then to a movie. It was a great family weekend getaway. We all had a great time!

All of the kids reading books after our first summer trip to the library.

Macey in the July 4Th children's parade at the church. (all the kids brought decorated bikes and scooters and rode them in a line after the pancake breakfast. They thought it was great!)

Nelson and his decorated scooter

Grandma, Grandpa, and Luke watching the parade (just a note - a mother of one child would have decorated some sort of push toy for her 18 month to use in the parade. A mother of five children didn't even think about it until the whole event was over. Poor Luke!)

Double Digits Baby!

Nelson is very excited to announce that he had reached double digits this year. He had a great birthday with presents, a movie, grandparents, and cake. Can you guess what is cake is suppose to be?
